Papagayos
The Papagayos, also called Nortes, blows off the Pacific coast of Mexico. It is produced by an intensification of the northeast Tradewinds in the Carribbean. These strong winds are blown to the mountains in central Mexico and reach the Pacific Ocean. It can be felt almost to the equator and Galapagos Islands.
Trade winds blow from the subtropics (30 degrees North and South) to the equator. They have been used for global trade routes in the past.
